Hematology is a branch of medicine that studies, diagnoses, treats and prevents blood-related diseases, and has close links with different disciplines of medicine and basic sciences, including immunology, medical genetics, and molecular genetics. Due to the fact that precise cell counting speeds up the correct diagnosis, it is a necessity to perform all cell counting with the best techniques and methods possible. This is particularly true of platelet counting and determination of RBC indices.
The Hematology section of Payvand Clinical & Specialty Laboratory carries out all the principles of quality control, the use of the latest and most accurate equipment, and the presence of experienced staff in a wide range of hematological experiments, serving the patients and doctors.
Important indicators of Hematology Section are:
- Establishment of quality management system in the framework of national and ISO standards (ISO 10002 + ISO 9001)
- Equipped with the latest technology in the world and approved by the FDA for counting and detecting hematological parameters
- The ability to report more than 30 parameters in the form of CBC testing, along with peripheral blood smear examination by experienced staff
- Ability to evaluate and count cells in body fluids, including cerebrospinal fluid, by automatic systems
- Preparing of the majority of section results on a daily basis and in emergency cases within 1 to 2 hours
- Employing experienced and having at minimum, undergraduate degree Staff
