Biochemistry & Electrophoresis

Clinical biochemistry by studying the chemical and biochemical processes of the body helps diagnose and manage illnesses by analyzing blood, urine, and other body fluids. These tests can be performed on all body fluids, but are often performed on serum and plasma. In the Biochemistry section of Payvand Laboratory, serum, plasma, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, etc., are being tested and the results are delivered as soon as possible.

Because biological macromolecules such as DNA and proteins have charge, they can be separated by placing them in an electric field based on physical properties such as their conformation, molecular weight, and electric charge. For this purpose, a method called electrophoresis is used.

In the Electrophoresis section of Payvand Laboratory, using the Capillary method, electrophoresis tests are performed for protein, hemoglobin, and urine. Also, in this section, Immunofixation (I.M) for autoimmune serum and urine is performed, and the comments and final diagnosis for patients are reviewed personally by the Technical Director of the laboratory.

Important indicators of Biochemistry & Electrophoresis Section are:

  • Establishment of quality management system in the framework of national and ISO standards (ISO 10002 + ISO 9001)
  • Equipped with the technology of the day, so that all tests are carried out with fully automated methods and advanced devices.
  • Daily internal quality control by the department to ensure the accuracy of the program’s results, as well as to participate in three internal and external quality control programs EQAS & EQAP and PREVECAL for most biochemical tests and obtaining optimal results in them.
  • Provide the results of most tests to the patient on the same day of sampling.
  • Provide emergency test results within 2 to 3 hours and report it to the patient and physician in written form and online.
  • Having personnel with theoretical and practical knowledge and sufficient experience in related fields
