April 18th, Medical Laboratory Science Day
In honor of the great efforts of Hakim Ahmad Gorgani (Jorjani), an eminent physician of the 5th and 6th centuries AH, Date; April 18 has been named the Day of Medical Laboratory Science.
Diagnosis of diseases by physicians is difficult to imagine without the routine, specialized, and subspecialty clinical tests. About 70% of diagnoses are based on the results of clinical laboratories, which makes the performance of the laboratory field very important for patient care and health improvement. The purpose of the Medical Laboratory Science Day is to increase the awareness of the role that Biomedical Laboratory Scientists have in providing health care. Biomedical Laboratory Scientists play a key role in diagnosis, quality development and assurance, treatment, research, and development in the modern medical sciences.
Not only are routine laboratory tests performed on chronic diseases such as diabetes in the laboratory, but also the diagnosis of acute diseases with the specialty and subspecialty Lab. tests are one of the activities in the field of laboratory diagnosis.
